Seniors
Surefire Ways For
Traveling Minus The
Hassles
Here are
Important Travel Tips for Seniors that make
sure their vacation is safe and trouble free.
All year
long, many elderly over 70 do the following: pack their
bags, acquire over 70 travel insurance and go on a trip
somewhere for a variety of reasons.
Some want to visit family, some want to visit familiar
places, while some go on a tour to see new places and meet new
people.
Whatever the reasons are, the elderly who wants to
travel alone or with company should take note of the following
tips to make their travel safe, fun and
successful.
PLANNING:
Research about the area of destination first and take
note of the different tourist spots, travel fare when traveling
from one spot to another, hotels and their amenities, emergency
numbers, then consider buying over 70 travel insurance. Better
yet sign up on a tour to avoid hassles as the tour guides will
have all important information regarding the trip.
MEDICATIONS:
Your health should be a primary concern, some
medicines are not easy to buy abroad therefore bring enough to
last the trip with a note signed by your physician what your
medicines are meant for and how they are to be taken. Airport
security requires this especially if you are using syringes
then keep your medical kit inside a small bag to avoid
confusion when the need arises.
MEDICAL HISTORY:
Have your physician write down your detailed medical
history that contains past and present medical conditions -
such as allergies - and the generic names of the medicines you
take. This is as much for emergency purposes at the destination
and for reference by your insurer when you pay for over 70
travel insurance.
FAMILY:
Let them know where you're headed to, when you are
leaving, the number of days you'll be there, and when you
expect to be home. To keep them from worrying, call them right
before you're due to leave and immediately after reaching your
destination.
PHOTO OPS:
Every trip is a photo opportunity. You should bring a
digital camera that you can manage. A camera that has functions
that you can understand and is light enough that it can be worn
hanging around the neck for a long time without causing neck
pain is ideal. A bonus is a camera that can be used for
underwater photography incase the trip involves having to swim.
Extra batteries are a must too.
WEATHER:
Many elderly are sensitive to changing weather
conditions so checkout the usual weather of the place you are
heading to. If it's usually sunny don't forget your sun block
and water if you're trip involves being exposed to the sun most
of the time. If it’s a place that has a cold climate then
depending on how cold the place is bring the appropriate
clothes.
OVERSEAS TRAVEL:
If you're traveling abroad be extra careful of your
current papers such as passport and proper identification. Take
note of how to reach the embassy, their numbers, and how to
find the office.
A good idea is to photocopy your pertinent papers and leave the
originals at your hotel room. You should check before departure
that the over 70 travel insurance has
got you sufficiently covered for loss of baggage and other
important stuff.
TRAVEL LIGHT:
Don't bring unnecessary stuff with you these will only
get in your way. Leave your jewelry, other credit cards, and
heirlooms behind. When these things get stolen or simply lost,
it's sometimes difficult to replace them.
Whatever the reasons are for traveling, always
remember that the ultimate purpose of a trip is to have
fun. Maximize the fun, excitement, enjoyment, and
pleasure even more by not having to worry about accidents and
other untoward incidents through the acquisition of over 70
travel insurance.
Bon voyage
traveler!
